Privacy Policy

This is an English courtesy translation; the legally binding version is the German Datenschutzerklärung.

This policy applies to the website and the browser game Morph Gate (morphgate.app). The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is Manfred Breber (address and contact details see Imprint), firstcontact@breber.de.

1. Principle

Morph Gate is deliberately built to minimise data. We use no advertising cookies, no advertising pixels and no cross-site tracking; there is no disclosure of your data for advertising purposes.

Reach measurement (Plausible). For anonymous statistics we use the cookieless, privacy-friendly Plausible Analytics on our own infrastructure (stats.breber.de, servers in Germany/EU). No cookies are set and no personal data or full IP addresses are stored. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in anonymous reach statistics).

2. Hosting & Server Logs

The website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany). When you access the site, the server records technically necessary log data — in particular the page/file requested, the time of access, and information about your browser and operating system. This data serves exclusively the secure and stable operation of the site. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation).

3. The Game Runs Locally in Your Browser

Morph Gate runs entirely locally on your device. Saved games, achievements and settings are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage (localStorage) — there is no transmission to a server. Sound effects (Web Audio) and vibration (navigator.vibrate) are also generated purely locally on your device.

4. 3D Rendering (three.js)

For 3D rendering, the graphics library three.js is currently loaded from Cloudflare (cdnjs.cloudflare.com, USA). For technical reasons your IP address is transmitted to Cloudflare in the process. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in performant delivery). The associated data transfer to the USA is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Note: delivery from our own server (self-hosting) is planned; this third-party request will then no longer apply.

5. Fonts

Fonts are served locally from our own server. No Google Fonts are used; no transmission to Google or other third parties takes place.

6. Online Leaderboard

An online leaderboard is currently inactive. Once it is activated, a self-chosen nickname, the distance achieved and the chosen colour would be transmitted to a server; this policy will then be updated accordingly. In that case, please do not enter any real names.

7. Contact

If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide in order to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual/contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding).

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority:

To exercise your rights, a message to firstcontact@breber.de is sufficient.
